I heard some vague rumors Richie Furay and Stephen Stills may be making an appearance on this one for a mini Buffalo Springfield reunion. Anyone else heard anything about that?

Okay here are notes I wrote down after listening to the album for my 3rd time (not very well written, sorry). Definitely different than "Silver and Gold" on some songs. So far I'd say i'm pleased with the album. Probably won't be as good as "Silver and Gold" but I think I'll enjoy it more than "Greendale".

[the painter]
acoustic song that sounds like it came off of "Silver Gold"
real nice pedal steel

[no wonder]
-double drop d
-lick reminds me of "world on a string"
-electric (distorted guitar) in chorus, with some hammond B3 organ
-has some chorus (gospel) sounding backing vocals
-slide guitar a la allman bros
-gives a shout out to "chris rock, america the beautiful, 9/11..."

[falling off the face of the earth]
-another one that sounds like it comes off of "silver and gold"
-pedal steel, some real nice falsetto vocals for neil
-real nice song, one of my favorites

[far from home]
-starts off with horns, harmonica & slide guitar
-has a swamp sound imo, reminds me "greendale"

[it's a dream]
-starts off with piano (main instrument in the song)
-strings, pedal steel, acoustic, bass, drums
-my favorite so far
-no backing vocals from what i can tell (which i like)

[prarie wind]
-drop d guitar, over 7 minutes long
-horns, harmonica
-not so sure about this one, chick backup singers singing "prarie wind running through my
head...trying to remember what daddy said"

[here for you]
-nice old time song, acoustic, pedal steel, harp
-sounds like something off of "harvest"
-2nd favorite so far?
-his harp sound is much better on this song, the others sound a little too bluesy
if that makes sense
-add some strings in the middle that are a little annoying
-is that emmylou on harmony vocals?

[this old guitar]
-almost total rip off of the song "harvest moon" (guitar)
-hushed vocals, pedal steel
-sounds like emmylou again on backup, could be wrong though
-not the best lyrics

[he was the king]
-spoken intro, talking about which key to start in
-then kicks in a bluesy swampy song about elvis
-slide guitar
-chorus backing singers
-thumbs down for me (first one that i'm not really digging)

[when god made me]
-starts off with piano, very religious (kind of took me back)
-gospel singers "when god made me"
-feel like i'm in church
-nice sounding but no thanks, might skip this one

Thanks for the initial review Travel. The album looks promising. I'm really looking forward to this release from Shakey.

It's a great album.

Lot's of different Neil styles here, really plays well.
The contribution phase is coming to an end.

I like to make love with this cd softly playing in the background.
