Does every article now have to have the fucking word Trump in the title? This guy keeps trying to make the Trump connection even though Farrar says " I didn't set out to do that." I don't give a shit about politics, I just want to listen to some rock and roll.

P.S. Even though I think Trump is a complete d-bag I do enjoy seeing these useless whiny PC pussies act like the world is coming to an end.

I don't, it's annoying AF. Can't go anywhere without seeing the words Trump.

I honestly didn't even notice it, and I skipped right to the interview. I think my mind has blocked all references to Trump completely out.

I like this album. Blues-rock Jay kicks ass, but there's a few folky tunes to keep things interesting. There hasn't been a song that's jumped out at me as killer, but there hasn't been a song that's jumped out as a stink bomb either.

^ I like it, too abover. I have always been impressed by the electric guitar sounds Jay gets - rich and full with gravel - this album features more great guitar sounds. He gets a little nasal-whine-y in the middle of the album with his vocals, but Medicine Hat parts 2 & 3 are solid up-front, and I love Threads and Steel.

The Jay Volt tour came through Boston last night and I agree with Kurthead that theses songs work better live than recorded. I love electric Volt, but what I finally figured out is that the songwriting is just not there, especially when we know what Jay is capable of.

I'm struggling to get into this. There is nothing to hate here but for it is just not particularly memorable or engaging stuff. For me, this is the weakest Son Volt record to date.
