Easy Jules, maybe Joe's new job is a "not for prophet" type deal.

"Jesus Loves You" kinda has that old spark. Love Ken's tone throughout this thing. I think switching to Gretschs has inspired him a bit. Murray's backing vocals are so spot-on he's basically the Mike Mills of alt-country. Philip is solid as ever. To my ears this one reminds me of Fight Songs, which I've always liked.

Yeah I think almost all the songs are really good. I just feel he hasn't written a "great" song since "No Baby I" on Blame it on Gravity. "The One "is a pretty great song from that album too but that song dates back since Too Far to Care.

Choggs, did you ever get around to checking out Stewart Ransom Millers last solo effort? I thought that one had some pretty good songs on it.

Will add that I have NOT heard this lp yet, save for the GWG track . . . and that's kind of meh.

I think I did. It was the one with the bluegrass band right? I remember thinking it was ok.

Shrugs. I don't think so. It was typical Rhett Miller fare. I think it was called "The Traveler."

I guess he was back up by Black Prairie who are some indie folk (not bluegrass) offshoot of the decemberists.

Listened to a little bit of this and it really does sound like they've got their old sound back which is pretty incredible for a 25 year old band.

Saw them last night in Atlanta. They were incredible. I posted their set list (not in order) at setlist. Probably will go seem them in Nashville in May.

I find this album kind of disappointing. Kind of. There are some ok songs, but too many minor chord whammy bars for me.
