I expect all the Red Sox lovin', JD Drew haters to give the man his due for once. He's had a tough year, but he was the difference tonight. Like I've said before, I'll take him back in STL next year if you don't want him.

There are two things I HATE about this post-season:
1. Chevy's assault of Mellencamp on my ears
2. Lame Cook's MLB promo
I know a lot of you think this Dan Cook human that does the MLB 'There's Only One October' guy is great, but I gotta say he might be more annoying than Wanda Sykes.
For those who didn't see this parody. SNL captured his greatness here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7lDaNhR4K4
I thought Don Cheadle's NFL promo a few years back was lame. At least he acted cool, even if the lines were bad. This clown dances around like a drunken monkey shouting about there only being one October. Yeah, thanks Dan, I got that in the first grade, I am, sorry that comes as such a surprise to you
Sorry for the rant... for the record Garrison Keillor is cooler Dan Cook.

Really...does anybody here really like him? I think there have been a lot of posts about how much he sucks. I don't recall much love for him.ironman wrote: I know a lot of you think this Dan Cook human that does the MLB 'There's Only One October' guy is great
Now that I think about it...he seems to be really popular, but I don't know anyone that thinks he's funny.

I orefer Dan Cook v\ersus John Cougar- Who would you rather throat punch?bltkmt wrote:Rusty vs. Sun...let's do a poll!
Congrats to the Sox. They have proven again they are the best ran baseball team in the league. I have always been kind of a Red Sox hater, but there is no denying the truth.
I hope the Rox keep the momentum. It should be fun to watch.

Please no poll. I like the Sun. Plus I know I'll get swamped in any poll.
The Rockies are a fun team and certainly this year's feel good sports story. Its tough to root against them, Denver's a nice city, Coors Field is a great stadium.
I am just all pumped up that my Sox pulled off the big comeback from down 3-1. 30-5 total score in the last three games although last night's was a nail biter until the very late innings. Its hard to believe that Boston scored 23 runs in the last two games in Fenway with 0 hits from David Ortiz.
Still, if Lofton is called safe at second, or scores on that hit by Gutierrez its a whole different game.
The two teams tied with the best records in baseball duking it out for 7 games, gotta love it. Who would have predicted 0 wins and 0 decent outings from both Sabathia and Carmona?
Also - as much as Beckett was awesome and his game 5 start really did change the momentum, I think Youkilis should have won the MVP - he hit around .500 for the series with 3 homers, a triple and a bunch of RBI's.
Its funny, Francona took some serious heat for starting Wakefield in game 4 and holding Beckett out until 5. At the time he said, we're trying to line up our pitching to win a series not a game. It seemed silly then but in retrospect it worked. They got a great game from Schilling and a good enough start from Matsuzaka with their two bullpen aces fully rested and ready to go. (of course the 19 runs they scored in 5 & 6 helped rest the bullpen too). And they had Beckett ready to go in relief if needed.
Im sure 3legcat will appreciate this but it sure was nice to see JD Drew come up with some big hits finally.
I got no predictions on the series with Colorado yet. I'm still punching myself that the Sox made it in there. Should be fun - two teams with lots of momentum. Beckett vs Francis on Wednesday night.

I'd agree with you there. He really was the heart of the team this postseason.Rusty wrote:Also - as much as Beckett was awesome and his game 5 start really did change the momentum, I think Youkilis should have won the MVP - he hit around .500 for the series with 3 homers, a triple and a bunch of RBI's.

To use a totally politically incorrect phrase...I have no dog in this fight...
Two of my favorite folk around here (Rusty and the Sun) support these teams, so I am just gonna hope for a good series...

As much as I hate him, I think we need to make sure to keep the "E" on the end of Dane Cook's name, or else some dude named Dan Cook is going to get a lot of angry phone calls.
