Dave Alvin is amazing live. Both he and Greg Brown are two of the best songwriters around. Ive never seen Brown but hear he is also great live.

Dave Alvin is great live. This is funny I had a chance to see dave in madison about 5 years ago or so. My ex and I drove all the way across to the east side to some little bar and the last 2 tickets had just walked out the door. I was really bummed about that. The place was small as hell too. I remember looking around thinking where the fuck are he and the guilty men going to play? I never found out if it was a good show or not just wish I could have seen him in that little dive.I saw him open for Dylan in 98 and it just blew me away I've been a fan ever since.
