You got to get everything buddie! Little Johnny has got to eat so buy buy buy 'em up.

All Shook Down--this one sounds better and better with time. 'Sadly Beautiful', 'Someone Take The Wheel', 'When It Began' the Mats swan song goodbye dumbos with a sadness that sneaks up on a human, the title track is gruff paul at his finest shot and forlorn.

Stink--it's crap mostly but it has Paul's first great mid-tempo rocker 'Go' on it and 'Kids Don't Folow' THIS IS THE MPLS POLICE THE PARTY IS OVER!!!! Also can be fun for a human to belt out FUCK SCHOOL FUCK SCHOOL FUCK MY SCHOOL!

As for the solo Paul, yeah you got to buy them all too. 'Besterberg' doesn't even count cuz greatest hits are for house wives and little girls. Start with 14 Songs and work your way up. Every album has pure gold on it and should be listened to from front to back. Sure some skippers but the Beatles and the Stones had skippers too, dig around you'll find gems like 'Things', 'Once Around The Weekend', 'Final Hurrah', 'Gun Shy', 'Crackle & Drag' o and so so much more!

Most protest the bolded area. Stink is gold all the way through.

Kids Don't Follow---a Replacements classic, albeit one of their lesser ones
Fuck School---juvenile, but in the most awesome way. Sounds best when you're sixteen and angry, but oh well
Stuck in the Middle---proto-grunge right here. Rock away the boredom
Goddamn Job---a blues anthem if there ever was one. I need a goddamn job/I need a goddamn girl. Why surround misery with poetry when you can just say what you mean? One of my favorites.
White and Lazy---unlike any other Replacements song with that harmonica and the swamp rock stomp. Love the vocal distortion on Paul too. One of the great Replacements unsung classics.
Dope Smokin' Moron--ironic thrash music. The weakest thing here, but still worthy for Bob's great guitar work, Paul's seldom used "hardcore voice", and the "hey, Merle, I was wondeirng, do you got any luds on ya? what?"
Go---another proto-grunge song. Never was sure about what this was about---a woman in a bad relationship? something else? Another of the great early Replacements songs.
Gimme Noise---the Mats at their most bad ass. It's about the Suburbs and nowadays they aren't all that remembered, but oh well, maybe I'll go buy a CD or watch 'em on YouTube.

In short, Stink is not crap. "Fuck School" and "Dope Smokin' Moron" have fluctuating charm, but the rest is pure gold.

All hail the mighty Replacements!

[THREADJACK] If anyone that owns the reissues would share "Don't Get Married" with me via PM of support...I would be eternally grateful. [END THREADJACK]

WOW! After all these years you guys can still pull off 6 pages for a non-specific Mats thread.... Impressive!
