I just re-watched Avengers recently - had only seen it in theaters - and liked it even better the second time. But I agree with abover that the group aspect made it more fun and that solo hero movies will likely pale.

I heard it was some guy called Mandarin?

I'm excited because Shane Black directed it. Then again, I think Marvel is keeping creative control pretty tight these days. On the other hand, if RDJ got Black on board in the first place he probably has a lot of creative control and can tell Marvel to fuck off within reason. Favreau sucked it up on the last movie. Totally forgettable. It does look dark, but studios have a way of cutting trailers to fit what's popular (The Dark Knight). The best thing about Iron Man was that it deftly balanced the action with the comedy. Hope they don't lose that. With the guy who wrote Lethal Weapon and Last Boy Scout at the helm, I'm expecting some good laughs and action sequences.

Oh hell yeah, I didn't realize that was the same dude. That is one of the finest films of the entire Damon Wayans canon, maybe *the* finest. I know I know 'better than White Chicks?!?!" Yeah, sorry I don't go for the lowbrow stuff guys.

I love Last Boy Scout. That sentence was serious. The rest was not.

Well, it was hard to tell especially when MAJOR PAYNE is AT LEAST in the running. (PS I don't think Damon is even in White Chicks. Do all Wayons look the same to you?!)

I can't keep track of all the various Wayans' comings and goings.

They have sons and nephews in the biz now as well.

I liked Avengers, but it was surface level popcorn fare for me. New Batman trilogy for me with its bevy of practical effects and minimal use of CGI. Just a marvel of film making. The Justice League movie is probably going to suck and Man of Steel intrigues me.

I was bothered by the supernatural element in The Avengers. Also Thor is a bullshit superhero. He's a god, so he can fly(?) and has a magical hammer that only has poundy sides (what if Thor needs to REMOVE NAILS!?!). But also Ironman can kick his ass? I mean it's just kind of lame. He's a god so he can do whatever they say. The alien army is like, robots, but also monsters? A little bit of both? I don't know. I was just like, "I'd like to see more Hulk and Iron Man and Scarlett Johannson in the tight outfits - whatever that character is" and none of this bullshit Captain America Thor garbage.

I wish they'd have made a Hulk movie with Mark Ruffalo instead of dicking around with those shitty Thor Captain America movies. Thor was actually OK, Captain America was really pretty lousy.

It would be funny if they just remade it ever 5 years. No sequel. Just retell the origin story with another well-respected actor taking a paycheck gig. I propose Gosling for the next one.
