I could have added them to the list too. My point is there are only a few elite teams that seem to be able to recruit enough talent to win. It's the same names every year.

Add them to the current list. All bluebloods or damn close. NBA Spurs, Lakers, Pistons, Celtics, Heat and Mavs. Look I like the college game better to. But it's not like none bcs schools are winning basketball titles every year. It's the same powerful schools at the final 4 every year with a Cinderella. Memphis came damn close as did Butler, but there hasn't been a none bcs team win it since Vegas in 90.

Recent runner-ups were Michigan, Butler, Memphis, Illinois, Michigan St. I guess what I should have said is at least lots of different teams make it to the finals every year.

The single elimination tournament has a lot to do with the diversity of the Final Four appearances. One bad game means you're gone, and a guy who gets on a hot streak can make things really interesting. If the NBA switched to that format they'd have a lot more teams winning titles as well.

I do think the Final Four tournament is the most fun playoffs in sports, but single elimination wouldn't work for a league with only 16 playoff teams. The playoffs would be over really quickly, lower ticket revenues, less advertising $$, etc.

Agree with Bob. I'd add the cream rises to the top when you have more than one game. That said it pretty much still does in the college game as well.

Oh I agree with the single elimination thing and I like it much better than a playoff series, but I'd like to see the championship game be a 3 game series.

He is my favorite athlete of all time......along with Lou Brock and Willie McGee. There has never been a more eye-popping player than The Doc. Not Jordan, not Magic, not Lebron....not anyone.

Three days off again between games 4 and 5. The NBA is hell bent on Sunday games. Sundays are the worst for me to watch sports. Two days off would be Saturday! Saturday would be much better!

Bill Simmons is a snoozer onscreen. Just like watching a box of shredded wheat.

Gotta give them a few days to write the script. 8)

I always hear how it'll go 7 yet they rarely do. If they wrote the script The Spurs wouldn't be here. Mavs wouldn't have won a few years ago.
