(sigh)...it's like arguing music with Creed fans...
I LOVE cheap beer, but the cost to alcohol ratio for many microbrews is much better than Budweiser. However, there are planty of larger breweries that make beers that don't suck - I don't think I could survive without the Gennesee Cream Ale 30 pack (only $11.49!) and, when I could get it, I thought Stroh's was great. I thrived on cheap beer when I lived in Wisconsin - you could get a 12 of Lienenkugel's for a song.
I'm just saying that Budweiser is crap - like mainstream pop music, it's brewed to be as inoffensive and dull as possible for the fucking zombie consumers who see a commercial and are compelled to purchase it. It's not very alcoholic and it tastes like dirty water.
It's like the difference between a McDonald's hamburger and a burger grilled at a local diner - both are cheap, only one is actually good (and made from beef).
If not liking things that suck makes me a 'snob' then I guess i'm ok with that.

LDB-- if you can point me where to get 30 Gennesee Cream Ales for 11.49 bucks buddy you'd totally be the man! And thanks for admitting Strohs is quite good. I get me some Leinenkugels when I can. My favorite beer beer is pretty much is Asahi Super Dry. Nothing quenches your thirst like that one.
Are pastor burritos made out of real pastors? Because I've had them before. They were good but I wasn't sure.

Miller Lite / diet Coke. They are both inexpensive, low calorie alcohol / caffeine delivery devices.Nortwoods wrote:It's really interesting the lengths people will go to defend in beer what they loathe in music: big, corporate, watered down, flavorless, production line derivative, unoriginal, uninspired on and on.
Even though Spuds Mackenzie rules!!!

Do you remember the Miller Lite "Dick" ads? They were hilarious. Won tons of advertising awards, but of course advertising asses only drink so much beer. The average Joe 6-pack was like WTF? Too "collegiate/ high brow". Sales plummeted. So they dropped their boutique Minneapolis agency and went for standard Chicago titty-adverts. Sold more beer. Titties sell corporate beer.
However, I take that back though, slightly-- "Bud Light presents/Real American heros/Real Men of genius" radio spots are probably the best spots of the last 10 years. Funny funny stuff that writes itself.
