Tabbedout posted this in the 'Who is this Generations Bob Dylan' Thread - "I just found out that Neil Young is a Will Oldham fan! he said in an interview that he loved "Superwolf", he called it haunting folk/metal...

Cool to see at least one person with some love for John Darnielle . I love that guy to death!" - Tabbedout

...and for no reason any sane man could think of, TANEYTOWN immediately replies with - "To the above. Yes yes you do love Will. He is so money fo you!"

I guess what I am trying to present to you TANEY is that if you think I am mean and nasty then you must be a whisp of fresh, flowery spring air on a beautiful April morning.

I know, RUNAWAYTRAINTOWN. Will is so money for you.

Check out these "ROCKIN" Lyrics, a bit ballady, but IT STILL FOOKIN' ROCKS! -

Call you up in the middle of the night
Like a firefly without a light
You were there like a blowtorch burning
I was a key that could use a little turning

So tired that I couldnt even sleep
So many secrets I couldnt keep
I promised myself I wouldnt weep
One more promise I couldnt keep

It seems no one can help me now,
Im in too deep; theres no way out
This time I have really led myself astray

Runaway train, never going back
Wrong way on a one-way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow Im neither here nor there

Can you help me remember how to smile?
Make it somehow all seem worthwhile
How on earth did I get so jaded?
Lifes mystery seems so faded

I can go where no one else can go
I know what no one else knows
Here I am just a-drownin in the rain
With a ticket for a runaway train

And everything seems cut and dried,
Day and night, earth and sky,
Somehow I just dont believe it

Runaway train, never going back
Wrong way on a one-way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow Im neither here nor there

Bought a ticket for a runaway train
Like a madman laughing at the rain
A little out of touch, a little insane
Its just easier than dealing with the pain

Runaway train, never going back
Wrong way on a one-way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow Im neither here nor there

Runaway train, never coming back
Runaway train, tearing up the track
Runaway train, burning in my veins
I run away but it always seems the same

I totally see similarities between J and Mark Kozelek. And to say Mark doesn't rock, check out 'Make Like Paper', 'Salvador Sanchez', 'Lily & Parrots', and 'Between Days', some excellent electric guitar from Kozelek.

Not to start anything but Koz can bring the rock. I'd put his electric Crazy Horse guitar prowess against any of your rock gods young Taney  .

Take a run at the sun buddies, this is the best music video ever made. Watch J surf with his guitar-

Thanks Shane, I'd never seen that one. I remember when that 3-song CD came out of J doing his Beach Boys thing (it was for that Brian Wilson-esque movie I still have never seen all the way through...). I remember thinking what a genius the human was.... he cleaned REM's clock in the Beach Boys revival departnment.

Yeah, I think that movie was called Grace Of My Heart (?). Had Matt Dillon playing the Brian Wilson character. J is actually in the movie as a fictitious band member (think some members of Red Cross are in it too). LOL at the great J as he catches a fish with his axe then flies it into the sky. I didn't know such a video exists til today. GREATNESS.

I just rewatched this video and it doesn't get better for seeing eyes than this. J in a wetsuit.... a magical guitar.... a golden boy surfer shot down.... fishing.... campfire guitar jam with hot chicks... a car chase involving a Porsche and a Volvo station wagon.... a remote controlled guitar.... and then a flying J....

Top 10 90's song for me this one is.... killer video aside.

Totally agree with the above  . How did the greatest video ever made get suppressed? I suspect a conspiracy against J. Yeah, I was on the edge of my seat when that surfer guy tried to throw J's guitar into the ocean, was so relieved when J pulled out the remote and flew it to safety.

Hey Christian, remember this other killer video Spike Jonze shot for 'Feel The Pain'? J and Mike Johnson playing golf around the city, classic stuff.
