Hate 'em Hate 'em Hate 'em.

Of course I have one though...use it for long distance calls to family...but do I remember to bring it with me at all times? Nope.

I go through Cingular...they stink. I have to walk from room to room to get a signal. Lordy...we sent a man to the moon over 35 years ago and can't get a frigging phone to work.

I don't give a crap about taking pictures...playing games...surfing the web or text messaging (don't get me started) on a phone...just make one (and a network) that works.

I know so many people that claim "how did we get by without them"? Just fine thank you. Forget your directions? Fine...pull over and use a payphone you lazy bastage...or take the time to get the complete directions before heading out.

I like the idea of NOT being accessible at all times.

i used to hate them but then i realised its just a fucking phone get over yourself you fuckwit.

I have one i use it i don't really ever think about it.

yes lots of cocks use them in an annoying fashion but there are lots of annoying cocks in the world who do annoying things fuck em.

i will admit to usually whispering if i have to answer it in public just because i hate it when people shout down theirs in public. but they are pretty damn useful. much better than a landline - I can see who is calling and don't have to answer, I can always say it was off, bad signal, on silent in the other room. and i can text people rather than having to talk to them awesome

I agree wholeheartedly with your post, Charky. BTW, what is the deal w/ Cingular? I live in NYC, where there are plenty of towers and my reception is often terrible at best.

btw, I think Europeans get much better reception than we U.S. folks. I recently read an article explaining why: something to do with them using one GSM sattelite network and U.S. having many networks of different types.

I hate annoying people whether they be on phones or standing in the middle of the grocery aisle trying to decide between Aunt Jamima or Log Cabin while I stand behind them obviously wanting past them yet they refuse to acknowledge me.

I have a cell phone and use it quite frequently. If someone calls when I am ina public place I go somewhere non public to talk... like the Health food aisle... nobodies ever in there.. the chips taste like shit... who wants to eat a blue chip?

I was adamantly against them until I got married and had a child. Now I enjoy having it. I usually just talk to my wife on it.. sometimes my Dad.. My life is easier because of it and I enjoy that. I feel safer going on road trips and if Im at the store and my wife suddenly sees that we are out of butter she can call me and say "We need butter" then I dont have to find out when I get home and make another trip. How is that bad? I hate going to the store so if I can do it once at a time it is a good thing... cause there is always someone parked in the middle of the aisle trying to make a decision between C & H sugar or store brand suger and it makes me want to punch the person in the small of the back.. and after they fall to the floor writhing in pain I want to stomp on their throat and make sure they are never able to swallow sugar again.

WOW ! I feel better after this post.. I went to the store this morning.

My thought exactly... There is always some jerkass sitting behind the plate on a phone waving to someone.

Switched over a while ago and dropped the land line. It's a love/hate relationship with the cell.

My cell is part of my families network so I don't actually pay. It is handy to have in the car especially in the winter, driving to Green Bay...could easily be more than 10 mile walk if stalled, and when it's zero and snowing and nighttime that would f-ing suck. Easier to place the call.

Otherwise it's less intrusive than the land line....I mostly keep it turned off and hardly ever carry it around with me. The numbers unlisted, so funny but no more sales calls. Caller ID and voicemail stuff is nice too, never had that with the landline.
The contribution phase is coming to an end.
