This is an amazing album... couldn't have come at a better time... Feels like driving down
a country road in autumn with nothing left ahead but the open road. Great seventies vibe all around.

So that's what that pain is.

I need to carve some time out to check this out. ASAP.

And for full disclosure, I've been a bad buddy, Acuff. You sent me Rain Plains years ago and I only took the time to give it a good listen this spring. In my defense, it was one of my top couple of albums for summer 2015. What can I say, I'm a late bloomer.

 No worries dear buddy 1973! Better late than never. Also, I realized a while ago that it is call Rain Plans and not Plains. I'd been calling it by the wrong name. Doh!
Just a really great album and this new one is a great continuation. See him live if you get the chance. He and his band blew the doors off the place in Omaha last year.

How fucking great is this? We're back in classic Neil Byrds 70s country buddies. Harmonies and steel guitar heaven.

First impression, he's doing what the Tree Top Flyers have been trying to do. Need more time with it. It might be a little too 70's America (the band) Time Machine for my liking which was how I felt about the Tree Top Flyers. I just can't seem to get into bands going after that 70's California Gold sound with the big expansive E minor acoustic 12 string chord strums . To be honest I never really liked it much back then either. But this was just first impression, obviously I need more time with it

I live for that 70s California Gold sound. Especially when it's done as well as this. Roll a number and rent a car. Take me out to where the pavement turns to sand.

There are some nice 'original' moments on the album, almost modern indie that are not so throwback 70's acoustic psychedelia Neil gold. If he'd zero in more on that this guy could be real good

I'm all over this album. I've road tested it and can approve! What a great driving record... and the perfect time of year
to listen to it.

It's kinda like this for me. I'd be happier without so much psychedelia. Oh well! Dude is still pretty solid and I'm not going to bail just yet.

I guess I like the tunes that are less 70's Neil Psychedelia acoustic Gold. Need more tunes like The Fire and the Flood and less of Strangers maybe, not sure, but the album is growing on me. He does manage to add original elements without going full Neil, I just can never seem to get into artists of today who go full on for that 70's psychedelic jammy Neil stuff like get out the lava lamps and tie-dye shirts and stuff, grow your hair long, messy beard and motorcycle cop sunglasses on (the try-hard poser shit), there has to be some inkling of originality in it for me, who knows, but there are nice songs on here.
