This.
Song of the year?
It's up there, but I think I'd put Futurebirds ("Hotel Parties", "Rodeo") a tic above.

I think Futurebirds has a few better songs, but this might be an overall better album. May be moving up to my #2 slot (hey now).

I've met a lot of artists who told me they moved into your #2 slot.

I'm gonna sandusky myself here and say I think there's a sameyness that puts it a tad below "Rain Plans," as well as the new Futurebirds on my Top 10.

"LA Lately," "The Fire & the Flood," and "Mariner's Ode" are all greatness though.

Sounds good to me, but not as good as the Futurebirds. Both have a great vibe, and perhaps it's not fair to lump them into a single category. But having discovered these two cool acts at about the same time, there will be a connection for me. But this one feels more like a shout out to Matthew Houck and Neil Young, while the Futurebirds feels like more in the BOH territory with a little Byrds flavoring. $.02
Good stuff coming late in 2015. Loving it.

That's exactly where I am, but didn't explain it well enough. I associate the 2 together, but like you I'm liking the nostalgia that Futurebirds is peddling a bit more.

Nacho, be careful sanduskying yourself. In 2 months you'll feel exactly the opposite and someone will blaze you by going through old posts and finding your words.

As long as I don't Beldo myself, I'll be alright.
