Drunken Sweetheart wrote:Yeah, but Taney, that whole move where you were counting up post views and accusing people of not responding because they were too afraid? That's mean. That's unnecessary.

Nortwoods tried to answer you and you were mean to him too.

Ironically, I'm the only person you weren't mean to and I gave you a completely unfair and sarcastic response.

And you're missing my point...again. The reason why I think Bill O'Reilly is a bad dude is not because he's a conservative. OK? I don't really like Howard Dean either (although I do think he was the only Democrat with any courage for the beginning of the Democratic race for the nomination...then he went off the wall)

My point is that maybe every time someone doesn't watch a TV show or listens to a specific radio station, maybe that doesn't have anything to do with politics. Maybe every little thing isn't a goddamn political issue that can be neatly demarcated. There is no such thing as a culture war....lots of conservatives read the NY Times and lots of liberals watch Fox News.

And maybe that doesn't mean anything at all. Maybe some conservatives like the NY Times. Maybe some liberals like Fox News. So what?

Maybe the LA Times circulation is hurting because the sports section sucks now. Maybe Air America isn't doing well because people don't like to listen to the sinusy, grating voice of Al Franken for 3 hours.

You know, Taney, you'd probably be a lot happier if you didn't try to politicize every damned thing that you read every day. Life is short, dude. Who cares whether or not the LA Times has plenty of readers? Do you honestly give a shit?
All I did was ask a question. Thank you DS for answering it. Thats all no biggie at all.

I'm sorry I made you all made. No huge deal my bad.

Taney - I love how you energize and engage this board with your 'I'll say what I want' attitude. This is the place for that kind of thing. It can be very entertaining. But sometimes its not.

The reason I don't feel compelled to respond to this (and many others) thread is because of your complete lack of care in your posts. Your spelling and grammar are attrocious. You obviously don't reread anything you've typed, there seem to be typos every other word. It's a fucking chore just to figure out what you are trying to say sometimes. And then when someone does respond to you with a thoughtful, well written post, it seems pretty clear that you don't read it very carefully. Sure, we all make typos and misspellings, but christ, at least an effort can be made, no?

So say what you want, but if you want people to answer your questions, why don't you try giving a shit about how you express yourself? I don't intend a fight - and you can fire back any barbs at me you like. I think I already know how you'd typically respond, so whatever.

Actually, it's spelled atrocious  .

And I love Taney just the way he is. He has a certain style that makes him an ACT original. I wouldn't have him any other way.

Pretty much what I would have said, could I be bothered...that, and the fact that Taney doesn't want thoughtful responses...he just wants people to post so he can say, "No, Yur rong" .

He didn't really want thoughful debate on Air America being a relatively new enterprise that is trying to break into larger markets while terrestrial radio itself is in a state of upheaval. About conservative talk having a huge headstart and being entrenched, so it'll be tough to shake up. About the entirely different demographics for the two formats.

About the huge shift in reading habits of newspaper readers, away from the traditional large-stlye dailies, to the rip and read they can find on the net and elsewhere..

Taney doesn't want to see any true facts or answers. He'll say, "Know, Y'our wong".

He just wants to use this flawed and idiotic nonsense as some sort of proof that most Americans are conservative and the few liberals that are left are all starving in the desert...and in the next breath, turn around and bitch about the liberal controlled media...

And while I am ranting, Taney, I think your recent talk about "peeing on your wife" etc., is beneath you and the standards I'd like to see uphelp around here. I like a good laugh, and I am no prude, but time and place, man...my 17 year checks in now and then, and I think it's disgusting she should have to see such garbage.

@Knob-Yeaps there's an element of puttin'on an act but that's what happens in real life too.I mean I came out on the phone with Eejut with some stuff usually write/type on this board so to show that some of us are pretty much the same here there and everywhere!

Hey Ray, if you're so worried about your kids reading the board, perhaps you should clean up some of your own language. If I'm not mistaken, you've posted some '18 or older' content around here from time to time yourself. And seriously, you guys are hitting below the belt taking jabs at Jamey's grammar. Not cool. Some of the smartest people I know aren't the best spellers, I've never thought that was a factor in determining intelligence. Flawed and idiotic nonsense.

Whoa, wait a minute. I am not equating Taney's grammar to a lack of intelligence. I am equating it to a lack of care in posting. Not that every word has to be painstakingly chosen. But c'mon, I wasn't taking a shot at his intelligence. Taney's got great musical knowledge and he seems to have his shit together and he seems to be happy at home. I don't care if he spouts 1500 difficult-to-understand posts on an internet message board. It's his pergotive. Maybe I tried to answer his question, maybe I tried to give him a suggestion. But, he is not my bitch, and may do whatever he likes with my BS.

OK then. Eh, I'm not trying to get on a soapbox or anything, and maybe I misconstrued what people are trying to say. We've got language barriers here for some folks, different locales all over the globe, I guess taking turns goofing on people's spelling and saying things like 'idiotic' confuses me. My bad, if that's the case. I get all defensive about Jamey because I know he is a good guy. He is one of my oldest friends here and I get a little hot under the collar when I think people are picking on him, that's all. He's turned me onto more music than anyone else, and he is way ahead of the curve on most bands. The guy has an ear for the rock and twang, when Taney talks up a band I just go ahead and order it without hearing one song.
