Altcountry reference on Sportscenter!
Was watching Sportscenter on Tuesday night to catch highlights of my Red Sox when out of the blue I hear a really surprising altcountry reference during the Red Sox summary. Red Sox shortstop Edgar Renteria got the game winning hit against the rangers in the bottom of the 10th inning. During the highlights, as Renteria hits the ball, the Sportscenter host says "As Ryan Adams is to Whiskeytown, Edgar Renteria is to the Red Sox!". Really. Pretty cool to hear 2 of my favorites, the Red Sox and Ryan Adams, in the same sentence on Sportscenter.
And by the way, the host was wrong. Its more like "As Ryan Adams is to Whiskeytown, David "Big Papi" Ortiz is to the Red Sox!".
Anybody else catch this reference?

They sing Im in love Whats that song Im in love with that song
That which forces the breath into your lungs when all is lost and your path is dark is your glimmer of hope

He may have been 1 for 6 but that 1 was the 1 that counted most - kinda like Ryan.LongDarkBlues wrote:Ha Ha! that's the best thing I've read online in ages! brilliant!paulhead wrote:He was 1 for 6. Which is kinda like Ryan Adams.

good one.....if you hate RApaulhead wrote:He was 1 for 6. Which is kinda like Ryan Adams.

i've got a comparison myself.
A random hitter goes 4 of 5. He does a really great job and carries the team, but everyone always insists that the first hit will always be the best one, so he just shouldn't go up to bat anymore. Thats like Ryan.
