Should I go see Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit?

Post by Acuff-Rose »

He'll be here next month. I kind of shied away from him after he left the Truckers and because of some of the negative reviews his first album received. I've heard his second album was pretty good but I never picked it up. I loved the songs he wrote for the Truckers. So Jason Isbell fans... should I go??

They put on a really great show, Andrej. Great energy, great rocking out, and of course great tunes, including the DBT-era ones you want to hear. His band is tight and even the acoustic show I saw rocked pretty hard at times. I've seen them three times and haven't been disappointed in the least.

Just saw them last week and they kicked ass. Awesome cover selection (even jamming out a Meters song and teasing "No Quarter" at one point), with equal parts hard rocking/Muscle Shoals boogie/acoustic alt. country-ness. They're seriously good.

You're goddamn straight it is. My favorite I guess of all time is Scent of a Woman. What a great movie. Plus the title makes me think of good pussy. Nothing like good pussy on the nose. You know this is why the guy from INXS killed himself, right? He couldn't smell pussy anymore so he just went and offed himself.
