Applewatch

What do ye all think about this?

I am usually last on the train when it comes to technology but both this and ApplePay seem like the future. The gold watch seems lame but the other two are good. It's a little pricey but I"m probably going to get one when I upgrade to the 6.

Mostly I think the watch is going to be useful as it applies to health. I've noticed marked changes in behavior with people wearing fitbits and it looks like the Applewatch will actually supply more data to the users than the fitbit does in addition to not being stupid as shit.

I will say that we don't know what the battery life is on this thing, and if it can't hold a charge for more than a day or two at a time, which is a distinct possibility....yeah, I'm waiting for a newer version.

Can it give me a BAC to tell me how to tell when I've had too much?

I think that's hard to measure, I know that analysts were disappointed it couldn't measure glucose levels. I doubt they'll ever do BACs because of potential liability issues.

I'll let my Applewatch tell you when I've had enough!

I think the Applewatch would be like "nah Blaze, you're good - don't let anyone tell you otherwise".

I'm not a watch wearer so this will have to have a lot of features that a smartphone doesn't have to make me switch over. The fitness things do sound pretty cool though

Apple are bumming me out at the moment with the news that they are discontinuing the iPod classic. What's the largest capacity on an iPod Touch? 60gb? I'm glad I bought my 160gb classic just this year..my entire music collection takes up about 90gb so I still have a lot of breathing room. But you know what Apple are doing, they want everyone moving to their cloud music services for storage. The rest of us with tons of music ripped from our CDs will have to suck it up when the time comes.

^^^I moved (copied) my ripped collection (about 250gb) to Amazon's Cloud Player a few months ago. Only $25 per year to store it all. They have an app for iPhone to stream your music as well.

The hard drive on my 80 gb classic failed after a 4 years. Started only playing half of songs, etc. Then just went belly up. That's my other concern.

I like BLTKMT's suggestion.

Pretty good deal, pretty good ...but what are you paying for the unlimited 4G data necessary to stream it all? Asking for a friend: can you upload mp3s downloaded off filesharing sites?

Blaze: my iPod 80GB was doing the same, which is what prompted me to upgrade. I couldn't complain too much, I got about 8 years out of it. Now they they are discontinuing the iPod classic, its the best time to get one.

I stream a lot, both music and audiobooks, to my phone because I commute by car - my average GB use is 3-4gb per month. Not sure what plan you have? As far as files to upload, I uploaded EVERYTHING I had, including stuff obtained from back alleys (Napster).

Woah, I'd need to upgrade ..my plan is €35 (about $45) for 1GB per month..I'd need to pay $71 per month for 3GB. Hmmm. Its good that you can upload all your bootlegs, mind.

It's already discontinued, so the price has been jacked up (on Amazon that is).

Jeez! Sorry. The nostalgia/sentiment effect must have kicked in super early.
