PS 'Forget the Swan' was transcendent. That whooshing jet engine-sounding solo. Goddamn.

yah the Paradise was louder than The Channel.Rusty wrote:many many punk & hardcore shows...Black Flag, X, Ramones, Husker Du etc.
However the one I really remember doing permanent damage was mid 80's Jason & the Scorchers with the Georgia Satellites (brand new band then) opening. At the Paradise in Boston. Serious pain was inflicted. And while I can't blame my challenged hearing solely on this show, it certainly tipped me over to a new sensory low from which I have not ever recovered.

Dino Jr. for sure. Stupid loud. I had plugz but still.
There were girls in the crowd looking around like they were going to explode.
I grabbed cocktail napkins, balled up a few pieces us and handed them out.
Works every time people!
It really is a fucking miracle I can hear at all. So many shows, right or left ear pressed up against the speakers on the stage.

Yeah, up until the past few years I was a fan of getting as close to the stage and speakers as possible. Ugggh. Can't hear for shiz.
Booty for life!
