Really good show. About 3/4 of the way through the show, he did excuse himself so he could go backstage and vomit, though. That was a concert first for me.

Very rarely. Before he got as "famous" as he is now, he used to be John Moreland and the Black Gold Band. He mainly plays solo acoustic. A couple times with another guitarist. Sometimes, the other bands he is opening for will have him up to play with him. Seen them do that twice.

This is the first time in a long time we don't have any big shows lined up. Jay Farrar is coming in May, but that's about it. Still debating Beale St Music Fest (aka Memphis in Mud).

Isn't Sturgill playing a restaurant opening somewhere in southern Missouri or something?

Saw Greg Dulli solo last night. Stripped down and laid back affair. No drums. Never got to see the Afghan Whigs or Twilight Singers, so figured I should catch him while I could as I'm a huge fan. Played songs throughout his entire catalogue, but more heavy on Twilight songs.

Beale Street Music Festival at the end of the month.
Frank Turner w/ Two Cow Garage in May
Built to Spill in June
Widespread Panic in June
Guns N' Roses in July
Brian Wilson in July
Probably more, but that's what I've got tix for at the moment.

I´m going to see Lloyd Cole in Easthampton, MA on May 28th. It is one of four sessions of recording a new live record with only 25 people in the audience each show. Needless to say I am stoked about having a ticket to see this.
I just wanted to let y'all know how much Shakey rocked this weekend in Memphis. 40 minute Down By the River to open the show. Not a lot of classics but did get Fuckin' Up, which was a bit of a surprise. I could've done without Rockin' in the Free World, but man that opener was epic.

It was around 2 hours but he only played 12 songs. I think DBTR is on Youtube. It was pretty epic, but all the same, I kinda wish he would've shortened the song by maybe 15 minutes and given me a few more of my favorites. I still got to see one of my heroes, though so I'm happy either way.
