Not me (Thank God!!) but my 16 year old son just dropped $270 of his own money to see Kanye West in Boston on Saturday night. So Mom and Dad are driving down with him, gonna hang out in the big fun city until the show is over and drive back home. He is through the roof about it. I keep wanting to tell him he's crazy than realize I'd spend $270 for Springsteen....

I hope he enjoys it, but from my experience with live Kanye, he's no Bruce.

Kid loved Kanye - "greatest night of my life" he said. Even slapped hands with Mr. West twice.

On the adult front, Mrs. Rusty and I went to see Leon Bridges last week. Never heard of the dude but friends bought tickets and took us. It was great fun, throwback soul/Motown style but modernized. He was a high energy front man and the band was tight. They did a soul cover of Ginuwine's "Pony" for an encore. Opener Lianne LaHavas was also quite good, earned a standing O from a theater crowd,

On the more to the point adult front, I finally got off my ass to take initiative to see some good music (as opposed to others dragging us out). And therefore Mrs. R and I are gonna see Jason Isbell with Josh Ritter opening on October 11th. Can't wait.

Your show and the one I am seeing in Atlantic City look to be part of the Imperial Bedroom tour: http://www.brooklynvegan.com/elvis-cost ... imposters/

That is my favorite album so I am jazzed.

Nice, can't argue with that.

I've got a pair to see Tesla, REO Speedwagon, and Def Leppard next week from the Ticketmaster thing.

Open to offers from any board locals. I can't pay you more than 20 bucks a ticket though.

I'd take $20 to see Tesla. "Love Song" and "What You Give" are awesome, and I'd probably stick around for "Bringing on the Heartache".

Man, Leon is gold. I listened to that record just the other night. Great classic soul sound.

I´m going to see Marc Ribot solo on Dec 8. He´ll be playing at UMass, Amherst which makes it a reasonable drive for me.

I enjoyed it a lot! His band is the tits. He sounded good relative to how he sounds now. A lot of the reviews you see from his live shows seem to be from people who stopped listening around New Morning and don't realize he's like a more nasally Tom Waits at this point. Setlist was good, hit some of his classic stuff but leaned heavy on more recent stuff. Did three of the Sinatra-style tunes which you can tell he absolutely loves doing. He grabs the mic and holds it at an angle like an old timey crooner.
