Margo Price: How Rumors Get Started On Valentine’s Day

Margo Price – ‘Til the Wheels Fall Off Tour
Commodore Ballroom, Vancouver, BC
February 14, 2023

Margo Price and her ‘Til the Wheels Fall Off Tour’ rolled through Vancouver last Tuesday. It worked out perfectly for love birds as it was also Valentine’s day.

Including Price’s husband, guitarist, and songwriting partner Jeremy Ivey, Margo’s touring band consists of Jamie Davis (guitar), Alex Munoz (guitar), Kevin Black (bass), Micah Hulscher (keys), and Dillon Napier (drums).

What an incredible performance and show. There was even a second drum kit where Margo was hitting hard for two, three minutes at the end of “Change of Heart” and later during the outro on “That’s How Rumors Get Started” .

Margo Price’s path to Nashville began at Northern Illinois University, where she made the varsity cheerleading team as a freshman, tripped on mushrooms and decided to get as far from cheerleading as she could. She signed up for theater and dance classes. At the end of her sophomore year, she dropped out of school entirely at age 20 and moved to Nashville.

Since her breakthrough studio debut, “Midwest Farmer’s Daughter,” in March 2016, she was booked on Saturday Night Live the following month, then toured with Chris Stapleton during the summer of 2019; won Emerging Artist of the Year at the Americana Awards; saw her prairie hometown Aledo, Illinois, erect a sign declaring itself “Home of Country Music Stars Suzy Bogguss and Margo Price”.

Her excellent new album, “Strays”, which adopts a more Southern rock and psychedelic sound was released last month.
