Jeff Tweedy released his fifth solo studio album, Twilight Override, on September 26, 2025. The 30-song triple album was recorded at his Chicago studio, The Loft, and features collaborations with his sons, Spencer and Sammy, along with various Chicago musicians. ‘Twilight Override’ made my year-end Top 10 albums in 2025.

Jeff Tweedy told the best story last night in Vancouver during the encore.

“Alright, this one’s for you. Enjoy it.

I want to tell you a real quick little story about that song and then we’re going to say good night.

When I was in high school, WHEN I WAS IN FUCKIN’ HIGH SCHOOL, we had a jukebox in our cafeteria, and there was a guy who would only listen to that song.

If anybody would play a different song on that jukebox, he walked over to it and kick it and skip it off of that record and play “Raise a Little Hell”.

So I want to fuckin’ tell you something about me giving that song to you tonight.

It’s exposure therapy for me because I want to tell you it makes me want to drink chocolate milk out of a carton because I listened to that song in all of my dining environments for four fucking years.”

Trooper was formed in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1975. The band had a string of hits in the 1970s, including, among others, “Raise a Little Hell” which was the lead single from the band’s fourth studio album, 1978’s ‘Thick as Thieves’, produced by the Guess Who‘s Randy Bachman.
